Top 100 Health and Fitness Influencers

Is this even a health and fitness blog if we don’t publish a top list of influencers? I don’t think so. I couldn’t just give you another rehashed list with the same people that have been on every list ever. If that’s what you’re looking for there are enough of those out there already. Instead, our top list isn’t based on followers, or website traffic, or brand sponsorships. We don’t care about any of that. Our top list is just real people who we personally love following. Every single person on this list is someone we would love to hang out and have a beer with. In this list you…

    Cardio Workouts That Aren’t Running

If you have been reading this blog for a while you will know that I like to dream about becoming a runner. There are only two problems; my left knee tendinitis, my shin splints and I don’t enjoy running. Ok, three problems. I don’t know if you can relate but I still need to keep my cardio workouts going when I can’t run. Ages ago when I was younger and in shape, I played a lot of basketball. Have you ever experienced shin splints while running? If you have then you know how painful and frustrating they are. Some people are lucky and only have some tightness and mild pain. Others, like me, have extreme pain that can make even walking nearly impossible. Recently I have been trying to get back into running but I am having the same problem I always do. After about half a mile I start getting severe shin splint pain. Stretching and warming up makes it better but it’s not enough to get in a full run. This time I am determined to fix the problem once and for all. I’ve been doing…

15 Strength Training Tips After 40

As my son loves to remind me, I am now in my “late-30s”. I am also a woman with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), diabetes, and some other health issues. Through working with my doctors and tons of research, I found that strength training (in conjunction with a healthful diet) provided me with the greatest success in weight loss, increased energy, pain relief, and decreases in health symptoms. I didn’t find this out easily or quickly, I literally spent years trying so many different kinds of exercise, haven’t we all? Things flipped for me in 2014. I had a small stroke the year before and after I was pretty well recovered…
