Tell Us About Yourself And Your Blog.
I’m a certified nutrition coach and my educational background is in exercise science and physical therapy, so I”m passionate about holistic wellness. My blog combines that passion along with my love for travel and frugal living to encourage everyone to take more active, budget-friendly adventures. I share ways to enjoy movement while at home or traveling, simple ways to get fit (like planking), and how to live a healthy lifestyle through a clean diet and non-toxic personal care products.
If our readers could only read one of your blog posts which one should it be and why?
10 Ways We Save Money For Travel. It’s my most comprehensive post about travel and I’m passionate about everyone having the opportunity to explore the world and want to share the strategies I use so people know that travel and adventure are completely within their reach!
How do you stay healthy and fit?
I enjoy hiking, playing volleyball, planking and participating in free outdoor workouts through November Project and Females in Action.
What is your current diet like?
I generally follow a grain-free paleo diet to assist with decreasing inflammation in my gut. I try to include plenty of leafy greens and fermented foods in my diet, along with clean protein every morning (hemp protein is my favorite).
What’s the best advice you have received?
Nothing tastes as good as fit and healthy feels
How do you motivate yourself?
I like to join exercise challenges through FitBit and I have accountability partners to share healthy recipes and healthy meal ideas. The support and encouragement of others on similar health journeys has been so helpful.
What’s your biggest challenge and what do you do to overcome it?
Being consistent with regular physical activity. I’ve shifted my mindset over the last few years to make movement less of a guilt-based chore and more about finding movement that I enjoy and change up regularly so that I will stick with it.
What tools or resources are invaluable to you?
I love listening to health and fitness podcasts to continue learning more each day and also enjoy being a part of several Facebook groups to learn more about blogging. Also, Grammarly is so helpful for proofreading my blog posts and I regularly use Pexels for royalty-free images.
What’s your goal for the next year?
I’m planning to release my first eBook on active travel.
What’s the best part of your day?
When the workday is done and my husband I get to take our dog for a hike in the park.
What do you do for fun?
I love trying new ethnic food and bubble tea shops, visiting state parks, camping, playing board games, volleyball and most of all, traveling!

About Our Weekly Interview Series
Every Monday we will be presenting a short interview like this one. Even though OthFit is mostly a health and fitness blog there is so much more to life than losing weight and tracking our macros. We hope that by interviewing bloggers of all types we can help you to find wonderful blogs that you wouldn’t necessarily find on your own. The easiest way to keep up to date is to follow our weekly newsletter.
If you have a blog and would like to be interviewed you can find more information here.
