Blogger Interview With Cynthia Thurlow

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.

Hmm, well, I am a Western medicine nurse practitioner and functional nutritionist…..I have a huge passion for helping clients make connections between symptoms and their lifestyle habits vs just solely prescriptive medications. I’m a thought leader (just completed my 2nd TEDx talk!!)…..I love inspiring women to live their best lives! I’m co-host of a podcast (Everyday Wellness); I’m the creator of a signature program, called Wholistic Blueprint, which dials in on strategies to help support healthy hormones. 

I’m happily married, have two beautiful boys, two crazy doodles and live in the Washington, DC area. When I’m not recovering from a ruptured appendix, you will find me in the gym, cooking or traveling. Next stop…Portugal/Azore and Sri Lanka.

What one word best describes you and why?

Happy

How do you stay healthy and fit?


I practice intermittent fasting, I eat a gluten/grains/dairy free life and I prioritize self care

What’s the best advice you have received?

Be kind to yourself

How do you motivate yourself?

I want to serve as an example to my children and to other women that you can age gracefully and healthfully

What’s your biggest challenge and what do you do to overcome it?

Learning to say no…..i practice it daily

What tools or resources are invaluable to you day to day?

Hmm, prob my Laptop/iphone, glass water bottle, meal prep and moving my body

Who or what inspired you the most?

My children

What’s your goal for the next year?

Do a second TedX talk; expand my speaking opportunities and expand my group programs

What’s the best part of your day?

Morning….that’s when I prioritize ME

What do you do for fun?

Travel…..read voraciously, spend time with my family and close friends

Cynthia’s First TEDx Talk

Cynthia mentioned doing a second TedX talk which she filmed just last week. It should be available in early May. For now here is her first talk which I highly recommend watching. I’ll be adding the second when it’s available.
