Blogger Interview With Riley Adams

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.

I am a licensed CPA and work as a senior financial analyst at Google. I also run the personal finance website called Young and the Invested, a site dedicated to helping young professionals find financial independence and live their best lives.

My site, https://youngandtheinvested.com, focuses on ways to make money, save money, and invest money primarily through your careers, entrepreneurship, small business endeavors, investing, and side hustles.

If our readers could only read one of your blog posts which one should it be and why?

How to Pay Zero Tax on Passive Income

Part of being financially independent involves making smart money decisions including optimizing your tax strategy and making passive income streams to supplement your wage income. This post walks through some ways to take advantage of long-term capital gains rates which apply to certain types of passive income, resulting in no tax burden up to income limits.

What one word best describes you and why?

Resourceful – I always look for alternative methods to accomplish my set goals.

How do you stay healthy and fit?

I run and bike 4x per week and have followed the ketogenic diet the last 2 years.

How do you motivate yourself?

Focus on the life I want and putting steps in place to make it a reality.

Remaining patient. I have long-term goals set for myself and I need to balance living in the now while working toward my desired future.

What tools or resources are invaluable to you day to day?

Email. I constantly am in contact with people personally and professionally through email.

Who or what inspired you the most?

Seeing my parents work hard, make sacrifices, and ultimately live the lives they worked to achieve.

What’s your goal for the next year?

Be promoted to a finance manager, have a healthy and happy baby boy, buy the first house together with my family, and grow my blog to a certain traffic level.

What’s the best part of your day?

The morning when I wake up. I’m an early riser and enjoy the solitude in the mornings to start my day right.

I am the technical person behind OthFit.com. I write a little bit but most of my work is behind the scenes. I am working to get back in shape and reclaim some of the agility and strength I've lost to age and injury.
